Experience

Most of my career has been spent integrating well data and seismic data. I am strongest at 3D Seismic Interpretation, Seismic well ties, and well log correlation. These three skills are underlain by a solid understanding petrophysics and rock physics, velocity analysis, gather analysis, and seismic inversions.

Of my own interest, I’ve dipped my toes into core interpretation and spent a lot of time in smelly core repositories, interpreting on my own and in corporate roles, while working with mentors.

I enjoy the the beauty of earth science to span many orders of magnitude… Rock data, from thin sections with views of pore space and individual grains, to core interpretation all the way up to thousands of square miles of 2D and 3D seismic data.

And thus I make the leap of matching rock facies to seismic interpretations and inversions.  It’s a dangerous job, but someone has to do it!

Conventional New Ventures

Marathon Oil | Adv. Geophysicist
